Social Smarts & Anti Bullying Workshop

This program provides students with the necessary skills to combat bullying by implementing strategies to navigate unexpected behaviour. We teach the 5 Finger Rule for dealing with conflict in order for students to navigate their way to social success.

Emotional Intelligence Workshop

This interactive and engaging workshop is designed to develop students’ emotional intelligence and resilience by providing them with the skills to identify, understand and express emotions.

Self Regulation Workshop

This fully interactive workshop provides students with vital life skills that will enable them to Identify emotions and use tools such as the zones of regulation and a sensory playground to learn how to self regulate and develop emotional intelligence.

 

Curriculum: Health and Physical Education, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Relationships, Rhythmic and Expressive Movement Activities.

Includes:

  • Workshop to equip students with the tools to navigate unexpected behaviour from others
    • Role playing the Five Finger Rule to combat bullying
    • Drama, dance and movement
  • Visual aids and posters – Displayed during session (and provided to school as printable file)

Outcome: Students will be provided with the necessary tools to use the Five Finger Rule for combating unexpected behaviours, in order to combat negativity. Through dramatic movement, they will role play scenarios and learn strategies in order to progress successfully on their journey as lifelong learners.

    • An introduction to the 'Brain House' (upstairs/thinking brain and downstairs/feeling brain)
    • Mindfulness exercises and how to create an emotion wheel

Outcome:
Through the process of building skills to identify and understand emotions, students will learn positive emotional expression, which in turn will develop areas such as empathy and compassion. Our professional coaches will guide students through strategies that they can easily implement in their everyday lives, and assist them to be resilient, compassionate and mentally strong.

    • Self regulation sensory playground
    • Tools to self regulate using the “zones of regulation”
    • Mindfulness, breathing techniques, movement, drama, guided visualisation and meditation.
    • Create a top 10 list of self regulation strategies for each student
  • Visual aids and posters – Displayed during session (and provided to school as printable file)
  • Self-regulation therapy items for students to access during incursion
  • Room set-up - creation of a self regulation sensory classroom space

Outcome: When provided with the knowledge and tools on self-regulation in a supportive, innovative and calm space, students will begin to develop a greater self awareness to reduce stress and anxiety for better individual and group outcomes. Through this process, they will learn to identify emotions and implement self regulation for the purpose of emotional intelligence and resilience.

Just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful hip hop dance incursion. Children of all ages (5-12years) all thoroughly enjoyed this as did the staff. It is definitely something we will want to run again at our program.
